Why I Taste

Earlier this evening I attempted to make a video because...One, I haven't actually written anything in weeks and Two, because people are on my nerves...

That's all I could salvage but surely y'all have picked up that the question here is...which one of these are straining to be rock stars....

or

If that second one doesn't look like an official video it's because it isn't...they never made one for Summer Babe. Of course, it ends with a big toothy smile...lovely and appropriate.

I'll try to get my act together shortly.

  1. The indignation is both priceless and justified.

They do it in Belgium and it is celebrated, and disgusting. They also make a sour cherry lambic beer there which is lovely when it's well done and disgusting when it's not.

Safest route is no frigging fruit in the beer. For god's sake.

  3. Yes, your expression is priceless! Brilliant. Having said that, I'm no purist and I'd try it and probably like it very much. I like these unexpected ingredients in beverages (I'm on chocolate tea at the moment).

    1. There's a few you'd like. Lemon, raspberry and especially strawberry. Abita Springs Louisiana is a pretty little town that is know for beer and strawberries.

  4. Fruit beer is ok in small doses but it doesn't do to stray too far from a toilet shortly thereafter

  5. Erik the fruit beer you can get in Belgium/France/Britain can be very good. Loved your little talk, it made me smile. And of course Summer Babe is a top tune.

    1. I recorded a lot of nonsense before deciding it was almost all rubbish.

It's a glorious song. Malkmus didn't even want to put it on the album...he thought it was too soft I guess.

  6. I had to watch this a couple of times I was laughing so hard. '.....there's fruit in this beer....' You look as appalled as I would be. There's a pub in Norwich called The Belgian Monk that has a huge selection of weird and wonderful Belgian beers, including several fruit ones - Wittekerke Rosé Fruity Pink Beer anyone? Thought not.
By the way, I have the same look of horror on my face when someone puts milk and/or sugar in my coffee.

    1. Haha. If that had happened there would have been violence.

  7. So that's what you sound like.

Hearth-father feels the same about fruit in cheese. But then he is a cider drinker.

    1. I think the cheap mic pitches everything up slightly but yes ma'am...that's me. Fruit in cheese...just imagine this exact conversation taking place at the cheese stand in the grocery.

    2. Indeed...he'd be spitting. (Whilst drinking his apples-drink.)
